If the contribution can't outpace inflation-eroded purchasing power on the goal, the calculator will return a very long number. Increase contributions or accept a smaller goal.

Accepted Answer

No — returns are pre-tax. For an accurate after-tax answer, use a return rate that's already net of your marginal tax.

Should I include the First Home Super Saver Scheme?

FHSSS lets first-home buyers save inside super at marginal-tax savings. Model FHSSS contributions separately — different cap rules apply.

What about market-linked investments?

The calculator uses a fixed return, not volatile market returns. For investment scenarios, treat the rate as a long-run average and add a safety margin.
